weekend in photos.

tgif.
it's almost the weekend (love these short work weeks!), and it's going to be another busy one. i'll be snapchatting my way through the weekend, so if you're on snapchat or periscope, let's connect (@rockoomph)! i leave you with the last of the pictures from this past weekend.

don't forget to enter the gold macbook giveaway. i wish i could win it, but i can't....so i'm rooting for you! take your time and get in a few entries everyday.

friday, i took the morning off for a bit of exercise with one of my besties and her two girls...
...followed by a super yummy birthday lunch (thanks, L&S) at diamond head market & grill.
my neighbors also had a 2-day garage sale...the kids had a lemonade stand. too cute!
went to watch my niece perform at her dance competition at the hawaii convention center. they had an awesome number and took first place!
i periscoped this view of the canal while i was there...did you catch it?
after the dance competition, i went to a little car show/meet and greet to see my friend's car. he built this porsche...can you see mini-he inside?
had a nice birthday dinner with them after the show at nico's. super yummy joel gott cabernet and swordfish below.
after helping my neighbors at the garage sale, we hit up a new place in our neighborhood for a much needed drink. i'm not a huge beer drinker, but found one out of the 35 or so beers that i liked.

and...on memorial day, we just chilled at home.
have a great weekend!

wedding blues.

what an awesome memorial day (and birthday) weekend it was! it was definitely a busy one jam packed with people to see, places to go, and yummy food and drink...but those are the best kind, right?

it started with a friend's wedding on friday to which i wore this pretty blue dress from Patty's Closet. the hotel has fireworks every friday night which was timed perfectly for the wedding reception. more weekend pictures to follow.

how did you spend your weekend?

the minis surprised me with my favorite ice cream cake.
snuck in a couple glasses of wine at the wedding. see that pretty floral centerpiece? it was supposed to be mine - i won it - but this annoying girl on our table asked me if she could have it! ugh...so i gave it to her.
awesome fireworks show.
did you catch it on my snapchat?

best nail polish remover ever.

i received these Absolute nail polish remover pads way back in my november 2013 POPSUGAR must have box. i put them aside thinking they would be great for travelling and completely forgot about them.

assuming they were probably dried out, i almost tossed them. glad i didn't. not only were they still moist, but they worked really well! it claims to remove polish from all 10 nails with only one pad, and it does. in addition, it has a very light and pleasant scent that won't be offensive to others around you. i tend to do my nails late at night when others are sleeping, and this won't smell up the house. this is so easy to use...makes me wonder why i bothered with the bottle and cotton balls all these years!

have you tried nail polish remover pads?
what's your preference...liquid or pads?

you can see how thin the pads are here.
it easily removed the dark brown nail polish i had on for a while.
and again here with the pink polish.
(absolute nail polish remover pads available on amazonhere and here)

pros:
acetone free.
formulated with vitamin c & e.
pleasant smell.
affordable.
easy, no fuss, no mess.
portable, convenient.

cons:
available online only (at least for me in hawaii).

the printed jumpsuit.

i'm so ready for the weekend. fridays definitely put a smile on my face as does this jumpsuit which reminds me slightly of moroccan tiles. double smiles.

as i mentioned in my last post, i have a fun weekend ahead starting with an early morning walk involving food. i'll be snapchatting along the way in case you're interested (rockoomph).

happy aloha friday.

a soft spring palette.

soft grays, muted pinks, and rose gold [shoes] just seem right for warm spring days. it truly feels like a hump day...need to find energy to get through this day and finish off the week. i have a fun weekend ahead which will include a little bit of exercise, getting wet, a lot of eating, and tasting some new drinks. tell you all about it soon!

by the way, anyone on snapchat? i literally just signed up yesterday to see what it's all about and hopefully get it all figured out before the weekend. leave me your username so i can find ya - i'm rockoomph.

printed shift dress.

this dress from Patty's Closet was on point for mother's day brunching. its simple shape was comfortable, not to mention forgiving, for all the eating we were doing. and this long gold necklace from my latest Rocksbox was perfect for breaking up the pattern. a few pics from mother's day below.

how did you celebrate the moms/mother-figures in your life?

the cream pot, waikiki

i've been wanting to try the cream pot for a while and was able to get a last minute 12:30 reservation. i heard a lot of great things about this place and had high expectations. however, we didn't get seated until 1:30pm...and our food didn't arrive until 2:20pm (they close at 2:30pm)!

but...the food was really good and the presentation excellent. there were a lot of cute details throughout like their little white dishes and the garden-like interiors. the souffle pancakes is their signature dish, so we had to try that. mini-she and i split that and the eggs benedict. our table also had crepes and french toast, all which were very sweet, a lot of bread, and had us craving meat!

my recommendation is for everyone to order something savory, then get a couple of sweet dishes to share.

lemon raspberry souffle pancakes.
off-the-wall eggs benedict with salted caramel sauce.
flowers from mini-he.

h&m bag; Rocksbox necklace)

weekend in photos.

this skirt was hidden in its protective plastic that i almost forgot about it. such a great skirt, though, with its curved up sides and leather piping. worn casual here with a tee + black sneaks [i was too lazy to move my camera back for a full length, haha], but you can see it dressed up here.

this weekend was jammed packed with stuff to do (and lots to drink)...some of which was planned, some wasn't. but i love when weekends just happen. don't you? weekend randoms below.

wine night.
got spiced up for the pacquiao/mayweather fight.
beer + bingo fundraiser plus a trip on the party bus.
i said on instagram that what happens inside the bus, stays in the bus...but this photo isn't too incriminating. and it's blurriness shows just how much fun we were having.
beach house shenanigans...water balloon fights for the littles, margaritas for the bigs.
plus, lots of good food...these were called juicy lucy burgers made with a layer of cheese in between two pattys. have you heard of such a thing? it was good, tho!
